Responsibility: Research Assistant in the Distributed Systems Research Laboratory

As a research assistant in the Distributed Systems Research Laboratory I have focused my work in the areas of Workflows, Business Processes, Ontologies and Web Services within research projects such as Food Trace (Food traceability), Intel Pro (Prostate cancer), Scan urgent (Genital-Urinary malformations).

Microsoft Internship, Redmond WA, with the WCF Team, June 2006 – Sept 2006

Responsibility: Software Development Engineer Intern

During the 12 weeks internship I have worked with the Reliable Messaging team, and have implemented a protocol refresh in WCF that would make it compatible with both WS-RM 1.0 and WS-RM 1.1 standards. Also I have designed and developed a mechanism that would allow side-by-side execution of both protocols in WCF.

Microsoft Student-Partners Program, 2003 – 2008

Responsibility: Team Lead in the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca

Starting with the first year of my academic life, I joined the Microsoft Development and Research Center in the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. Currently I am the Team Lead in the Microsoft Student-Partners Program in my University. During this period I coordinated the local team of Microsoft Student-Partners in numerous activities, presentations, workshops and hands-on labs within our University.

.NET Framework: OO Programming, Visual Applications and Web Development Course, August 2007

Responsibility: Trainer

In collaboration with the Romanian Ministry for Education and Microsoft Romania, I held a 10 day training course for high-school informatics teachers covering subjects as Object Oriented Programming, Visual Application development using C# and Web Applications Development using ASP.NET 2.0. As part of my responsibilities I worked within the team that wrote the teaching support materials for this course.

Responsibility: Speaker / Presenter

The Microsoft | Academic Tour 4.0 event focused on the future web technologies covering the presentation and data layers of web applications. In the presentation I held the event Key-Note and a deep dive into ADO.NET Web Data Services in Microsoft .NET (Project Astoria).

During April 2007, I have given lectures in 5 Universities in Romania as well as for local IT companies and the teachers accompanying high-school students during the national phase of the Informatics Olympiad, regarding the new .NET framework available in Windows Vista, covering topics such as: Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Workflow and Windows Cardspace.

The project involves mobile devices (Pocket PCs and SmartPhones), GPS positioning and Web Services in the .NET environment. The project aims to keep the user in permanent interaction with the active institutions (such as tourist objectives, libraries, businesses, hospitals, etc) around him by means of a Smart Mobile Device.
